This week’s Walk on the Mild Side delves into care and feeding of houseplants, or rather the lack of care and feeding of houseplants. Apparently one of the inmates at the Office of Information Hardly Anyone Remembers managed to kill off an air plant, so is now being tasked with finding a plant that’s (a) not made of plastic or paper and (b) hard to kill.

• Norfolk Island pine (supposed to dry out between waterings!)
