Smoke Damage Happens

As soon as the smoke alarms inside the manufacturing building sounded, we went outside to our designated emergency zones to await further instructions. Thanks to the Plainfield Township Fire Department's quick response, the fire never had a chance to do major damage. The fire was contained to the utility closet, where a dusty electrical panel with some kinked wires caused the fire to ignite.

Even though the fire was contained, there was smoke, soot, and water left from the firefighting efforts that had to be cleaned up before we could become fully operational again. We called SERVPRO® of Plainfield/Naperville South and they sent a team of restoration technicians to mitigate the damage.

They extracted the water and set up air blowers and air movers to completely dry the area and cleaned the smoke and soot residue from the walls, floors, ceilings and light fixtures, and workstations, and neutralized the smoke odor. They were also able to supervise the repair of the electrical panel. Now you would never know there had ever been a fire!
